Purpose: Reduce visual pollution and maintain RF transmission clarity
In 2015, Malaysia embarked on a mission to strengthen rural connectivity with the planning of 1,000 new telecommunications towers across remote areas. While this development boosted national connectivity, it also posed a challenge—maintaining the natural landscape and avoiding environmental disruption. Our client sought a reliable, non-conductive and RF-transparent solution that could visually blend into natural surroundings without affecting signal quality. Mui Fatt answered this call by supplying FRP customized camouflage panels using hand layup fabrication, perfectly suited for rural telecom applications.
Why Use FRP for TELCO Tower Camouflage?
RF Transparency & Non-Conductive Material
Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) does not obstruct radio frequency signals, making it ideal for telecommunication infrastructure that requires seamless RF transmission.
Visual Integration into Natural Landscapes
By customizing FRP panels in natural green and neutral grey colors, the towers blend into the environment, helping preserve the natural biodiversity and reducing visual impact in scenic areas.
Lightweight Yet Durable
FRP panels are lightweight for easier transport to remote areas, yet strong enough to withstand harsh weather and outdoor conditions, making them a sustainable long-term choice.
Project Objective and Fulfillment
The goal was to camouflage telecommunication towers in ecologically sensitive and visually protected rural zones while ensuring that RF signals remain uninterrupted. The FRP hand layup method allowed for custom shape, size, and color flexibility, providing optimal concealment without compromising on material strength or signal transmission. Mui Fatt’s tailored solution fulfilled the criteria for aesthetics, performance, and ease of installation.
